Curious about how institutional investors balance risks and returns or how technological advancements will shape investment analysis?
Our partner Varma invites you for an interactive and insightful afternoon in their headquarters on Wednesday 5.3. at 14:00! This excursion will feature various workshops, where we will delve into topics of risk management, fixed income, and investment analysis from the perspective of a mutual pension insurance company.
The event will kick off with a brief macro and risk management outlook after which we will break into smaller groups for workshops. During the sessions, you’ll have a chance to gain insights from professionals themselves about megatrends in the fixed income and equity markets, and AI’s impact on investment analysis from the perspective of an institutional investor. Additionally, topics regarding data-driven equity analysis and research are covered in the sessions.
Following the workshops, we’ll wrap up the excursion together over a delicious pizza serving.

about the speakers
Antti Paronen
Antti Paronen is an experienced investment professional with extensive experience in risk analysis, quantitative strategies, and asset allocation. Antti currently works as a strategist at Varma and will share his expertise on risk management and macro outlooks in the framework of an insurance pension company.
Pekka Lankinen
Pekka Lankinen, a Senior Portfolio Manager at Varma, manages Varma’s Global Tech and Global Communication Services portfolios and has broad expertise from the financial markets. Pekka’s workshop will provide a practical introduction to the effects and benefits of AI and other technological advancements on investment analysis.
Ann Brännback
Ann Brännback, Senior Portfolio Manager at Varma, has over 20 years of experience managing both listed direct investments and allocating into alternative fund investments. Additionally, Ann has broad experience in investment decisions as an investment committee chair and board member from different foundations. Managing investment grade corporate bond portfolio at Varma, Ann will provide a comprehensive perspective on credit investments.
